Nosirrah Is Not

Books

These are listed in presumed chronological order. It is believed that there may have been titles prior to Practical Obsession that are simply lost, and further that there are one or more titles bridging the period between Nothing from Nothing and God Is an Atheist which are likely still extant.

Practical Obsession

Publisher: Tragic Circumstances (not in print)

Described as “one of the best spiritual autobiographies of all times” by Nosirrah himself and elsewhere by him as a “semi-autobiographical science fiction romance memoir novella” it is the best source for insights into the life and times of Nossirah and the colorful cast of mystics, artists, grifters and maniacs who influenced him.

Chronic Eros

Publisher: Tragic Circumstances (not in print)

Nosirrah claimed this book was written from the bed he shared with his editor and muse Lydia, however there is some doubt whether this was an actual bed or an imaginary, possibly metaphoric bed. He does state that this is the one book that his editor did not “ruin” which some have interpreted to mean it was only lightly edited. This may explain some of the broken sentence structures and occasional break down of the narrative into obscure and turgid, almost circular, prose which might leave the average reader momentarily disoriented. This could, however, be the very genius of the work. Might be considered slightly pornographic, as well.

Nothing From Nothing: The Book for None

Sentient Publications (in print in new edition released September, 2009)

There is a copy for sale on Ebay!!!

“An odd, almost mocking title”, Nosirrah called it, “a book that had cost me everything in my life and had given me naught.” The less said about this book the better, as the book itself would suggest. Not for the faint-hearted, and clearly written from the depths of Nosirrah’s being, or non-being as he might prefer to say it.

The following review of Nothing from Nothing was written by Asil Nietshce Lak the noted North Caucasian Language Scholar, Kabbalist and Juhuro Musician (the Juhuro are also known as the" Mountain Jews of the Caucasas"). Lak is, strangely, a distant relative of Friedrich Nietzsche and, of course, Lak is reputed to be one of the remarkable persons Gurdjieff met in his wanderings through the Caucasus, perhaps part of the Sarong Sisterhood, the precurser to the better known Sarmoung Brotherhood. Lak is considered to be a prime influence on the development of Nosirrah's reputed psychic abilities as recounted in his book Practical Obsession and later in coveying to him the esoteric inner essence of the Kama Sutra, particularly the full lotus mounted butterfly position as recounted in Nosirrah's Chronic Eros (Nosirrah claims to still have scars to prove his mastery of that position).

We are honored to be able to publish this review by Asil Nietshce Lak:

"Nothing from Nothing" by N. Nosirrah is my favorite neoclassic, neocon, neopro, post-spiritual, post mortem, nouveau riche "DeNoted from the Underground" novella I ever read.

It belongs in my collection of "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark", as well as in that classic revised edition of the anthology, "The Soul Unearthed" which stands proudly next to my "Waiting for the Barbarians" by Coetzee on the bookshelf in the kitchen.

It's a 'must-read' for the suicidal die-hards, a 'thumbs-up' for the perennial hitchhikers on a spiritual quest, a 'high-five' for the hot-headed cool dudes, and a low-blow to the high-falutin feminists...
Need I say more? Alright, I will.

A 'hands-down' for the gluttons of pleasure, a 'heads-up' for the fear-mongers of doom, an enthusiastic "HURRAH" for the uncommitted, and a "Here-Here" for the neither here nor there.

Even spell-check couldn't correct it-that's how cosmically O.K. it is.

In short, I love this book, this book loves me, I will put my dyslexic right hand on it as the oath by which I swear to and pronounce, in paternal matrimony: "Holy of Holies, Nothing from Nothing, I don't!"

God Is an Atheist

Sentient Publications (in print in new edition released June, 2008)

Strange would be a word that would elevate this novella into the range of comprehension that would allow the reader to relax enough to enjoy some part of it, but in fact, there is nothing that will shift the burden away from the reader. The world is bent around and around the reader’s mind until either the mind itself begins to bend, or indeed, it breaks. A novel without plot, characters, structure or obvious purpose, it is an endless descent into the netherworlds of a dystopic mind, a novella that could define a generation, but a generation of what and on what planet remains the question. A fresh voice in fiction, unfortunately, also a generally incoherent one which will demand that the reader construct the work’s meaning. If 1,000 monkeys typing endlessly would eventually produce all great works of literature, then God Is an Atheist is their first draft.

Read Review of "God Is An Atheist" Here

From t he Midwest Book Review:

"If we believe in God, then what does God believe in? "God is an Atheist: A Novella for Those who Have Run out of Time" is a unique and offbeat story of a homosexual affair between Richard Dawkins and the pope, Islamic extremists hunting down the Christian deity, the family issues of Buddha, and other bizarre events. Sure to enthrall (and possibly perplex) readers, "God is an Atheist" is a must for anyone looking for a novel on religion with a twist."

God is an Atheist reveiw: This unusual book is a modern Tristram Shandy - which is to say, it will probably not be wildly popular, except as a word-film in the "cult" section; but its incisive and intelligent wit on matters spiritual and worldly offers a refreshing alternative to most tomes normally found in the genres of fiction, spirituality, autobiography, or philosophy. This book has all of those elements couched in a voice which is at once profoundly irreverent and mystically sound. Fundamentalists beware: the God of this religion brooks no pat description, no belief system, no creed or manifesto except perhaps that of freedom from such limitation, with a healthy dose of comic irony in both concept and conversational delivery.

2013: How to Profit from the Prophets in the Coming End of the World

unknown

Very little is known about this and it is likely to be unfinished. Apparently it is a financial plan to cash-in on end of the world movements with instructions for the reader on how to find opportunities in real estate, used automobiles, jewelry, small appliances and furniture, stocks and bonds, as the believers unload their earthly possessions in anticipation of the end of the world. After the world doesn’t end you start selling it all back to them with a markup plus storage and handling fees. Nosirrah indicated that he was “still working out the details, and details have never been my strong point. I am more of a big picture person.” It is not known if this is simply the structure for a novel or an actual financial success plan type book.
